Oleander Garden Club was established in 1949 as a garden club for spouses of active duty, retired or deceased military officers. We meet the 4th Wednesday of each month, August through May at the Garden Center Café.

Our 20 members participate in many garden club activities and are elected to serve on local, district, state, and Deep South and National Garden Club boards. Four members have been president of Pensacola Federation of Garden Clubs, our Cinny O’Donnell is a Past President of Florida Federation of Garden Clubs. And serves on the Deep South Region board for National Garden Clubs. Two members have received Gardener of the Year recognition.

In support of our military community, we decorate Christmas trees for the Naval Hospital In 1991, we worked with “Adopt-a-Tree” program to develop, plant, and maintain the Desert Storm Memorial Garden on Naval Air Station, winning many National and State Garden Clubs awards. The Blue Star Marker on Highway 98 was purchased and dedicated by Oleander Garden Club. This civic-minded Garden Club has participated in many community activities from Red Cross volunteering to Symphony, Art Guild, school and church functions as well as Flower Shows and youth activities.
